Going Green

A bright future for Romania’s renewable energy sector

“Enel Green Power Romania has also been active in supporting local communities through activities that promote cultural identity, sport and education linked to environmental consciousness. Among its many popular initiatives is the Enel Social Media Camp, Coronini Festival, The Mega Tree project and World Environmental Day.”

There is little evidence to suggest the existence of a large scale wind farm when driving through the coastal region of Dobrogea in Eastern Romania. Hidden from view, one of our more advanced green power production facilities also remains one of the least visible.

Yet both the Dobrogea plant and the Sfânta Elena wind farm in the mountainous region of Moldova Noua, situated in the South West, play a critical role in Enel’s on-going efforts to become carbon neutral by 2050. Together they are responsible for powering a growing number Romanian businesses and households.

The following videos offer a rare insight into the daily life of dedicated teams tasked with ensuring that both sites run smoothly. Their mission is to demystify wind power and give you a clearer idea of what goes on behind the scenes.

The first video focuses on the Dobrogea plant, while the second uses drone technology to deliver breathtaking footage of the Sfânta Elena wind farm and its picturesque setting, transporting viewers to an altitude of 100m above sea level.

Working on the front line of the green energy revolution.
